Terms of Service

1. Who we are
Scholar LMS is an online learning platform. These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of this installation. Where we say “we” we mean that operator; where we say “you” we mean the person using the service.
2. Your account
You need an account to enrol in a course. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password to yourself. One account per person: sharing an account is how a single purchase becomes a classroom, and we treat it as a breach of these terms.
We may suspend an account that is used to harass others, to distribute course material outside the platform, or to abuse assessment. Suspension preserves your data; it does not delete it. You can ask us to close your account at any time from your account settings.
3. Enrolment and access
Enrolling grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to access that course's material for as long as your enrolment is active. Some courses have an access period, which is shown before you buy. Some release lessons on a schedule rather than all at once. Neither is a defect.
We may withdraw a course from sale, but we will not remove a course you have already bought from your library except where we are legally required to, or where the material infringes someone else's rights.
4. Payment and refunds
Prices are shown before you pay and include any discount applied by a coupon. A coupon may be limited in the number of times it can be used, in what it applies to, and in when it is valid.
You may request a refund within 30 days of purchase provided you have not completed the course. A refund request is reviewed by an administrator rather than granted automatically, and we will tell you the outcome. Losing access to the course is a separate step an administrator takes alongside the refund, so you may keep access for a short period after the money is returned; any certificate issued for the course is withdrawn at the same time. Fraudulent or repeated refund-and-repurchase patterns may end in a suspended account.
5. If you teach here
You keep ownership of the material you upload. You grant us the licence we need to host it, stream it, and show it to the learners who enrol — nothing more, and it ends when you remove the material.
You must have the right to publish everything you upload. You are responsible for the accuracy of your course and for responding to learners within a reasonable time.
You receive the revenue share shown on your instructor profile, calculated per order after refunds and payment-processor fees. Payouts are made on the schedule shown in your payout settings, subject to any minimum balance. Courses are reviewed before publication and may be rejected with a reason.
6. Assessment integrity
Quizzes and assignments are graded on the assumption that the work is yours. Submitting someone else's work, sharing answer keys, or circumventing the assessment tooling voids the result and may void your certificate.
Certificates are verifiable by serial number. We may revoke a certificate where the underlying result is withdrawn, and revocation is shown publicly on the verification page along with the reason.
7. Conduct
Discussions, questions and reviews are for learning. No harassment, no spam, no attempts to move learners off-platform, no posting of other people's personal information. Course staff can moderate their own course's discussions; we can moderate anywhere.
Reviews must reflect genuine experience of the course. We remove reviews that are traded, incentivised, or written by someone with an undisclosed interest in the outcome.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the service running but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted. Planned maintenance, third-party outages and the occasional bug all happen. Where an outage materially prevents access to a course you paid for, tell us and we will extend your access.
9. Liability
[Placeholder — jurisdiction-specific. A lawyer must draft the liability cap, warranty disclaimer, indemnity and consumer-rights carve-outs, and confirm which of them are enforceable where this installation operates.]
10. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you we will tell you before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that is acceptance of the new version.
11. Contact
[Placeholder — operator's legal name, registered address, and a contact address for legal notices.]
